Wild Safari Family Event at the California Science Center

Enhancing the 3D Experience With 4D Fun

Event: Wild Safari Family Event -- June 26, 2005, 12 to 4 pm. Free
activities, giveaways, games, and a showcase of live animals
native to Africa highlight the opening weekend of the new
IMAX film Wild Safari 3D: A South African Adventure. If
you've always wanted to go on safari, but never had the
chance, leave your passport at home and let the California
Science Center bring Africa to you.

Visitors can see a full-grown lioness, courtesy of the
Wildlife Waystation, from 12 to 2 pm. Lion handlers will be
on site to answer questions. Other live African animals will
include an African Serval, Ball Python, Emperor Scorpion,
Fennec Fox and Fat Tailed Gecko (12 to 4 pm). Kids will
enjoy animal themed craft activities and face painting in
addition to learning about African wildlife.

Film: Wild Safari 3D: A South African Adventure takes the audience
on a three thousand mile journey in search for Africa's most
dangerous animals. With groundbreaking 3D technology,
viewers feel as if they are in the passenger seat of an
open-air safari vehicle, just inches away from breathtaking
wildlife. Opens June 24, 2005.

Film Schedule June 24 to September 1, 2005:

Wild Safari 3D: A South African Adventure at 10:30am,
12:30pm, 2:30pm, & 4:30pm
Roar: Lions of the Kalahari at 1:30pm (additional show at
5:30pm on Sat/Sun only)
Forces of Nature at 11:30am & 3:30pm

Admission: Admission to the California Science Center and Wild Safari
Family Event is FREE. Visitors must purchase tickets for
IMAX films. IMAX ticket prices range from $4.75 to $8.00.

California Science Center, located at 700 State Dr. in Exposition Park, Los Angeles, is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. Admission to Science Center exhibits is free. Guests should call (213) 744-7400 to confirm schedule on the day of their visit. For advance ticket purchases, group rates or to make reservations for any visiting group of 15 or more (required), call (213) 744-2019. Parking is available in the guest lot at Figueroa and Coliseum/39th Street for $6 per car. Both the Science Center and IMAX Theater are wheelchair accessible.
