Fandango and TMS Bring Ticketing and Movie Information to InfoSpace's Search & Directory Web Sites

Fandango and TMS Bring Ticketing and Movie Information to InfoSpace's Search & Directory Web Sites

CHICAGO, June 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Tribune Media Services (TMS) and Fandango ( http://www.fandango.com/ ), the nation's largest movie ticketing service, have entered into an agreement to provide movie information and ticketing to InfoSpace Search & Directory, a leading Web search and online directory services provider and a business of InfoSpace, Inc. (NASDAQ:INSP).

Three of InfoSpace's popular metasearch and Internet yellow pages Web sites, Dogpile.com ( http://www.dogpile.com/ ), WebCrawler.com ( http://www.webcrawler.com/ ), and Switchboard ( http://www.switchboard.com/ ), are now live with TMS' local movie showtimes and theater information and Fandango movie ticketing.

Dogpile.com and Webcrawler.com utilize InfoSpace's sophisticated IntelliFind(TM) system to assess the likely intent behind every entered keyword, enabling these sites to return TMS and Fandango content at the top of the results page when it is likely to be relevant to the end user. Switchboard.com now displays up-to-date movie listings and show times within the directory listings of movie theaters nationwide. In both cases, the new content helps visitors to InfoSpace sites to quickly select a film, plan where and when to see it, and buy tickets in advance from Fandango.

The TMS and Fandango license agreement also extends to MetaCrawler.com ( http://www.metacrawler.com/ ), Excite ( http://www.excite.com/ ) and Infospace's network of private-label Web site partners.

"Part of InfoSpace's strategy is to combine the best information from the leading providers and present it in a way that is highly relevant to our consumers," said Brian Bowman, vice president of product management and marketing for InfoSpace Search & Directory. "The introduction of TMS and Fandango content into the IntelliFind system on our metasearch properties and the directory listings on our Internet yellow pages sites marks yet another step forward in delivering easy-to-use, relevant content."

"We're pleased to work with InfoSpace to extend our reach to even more moviegoers," says Art Levitt, CEO and President of Fandango, Inc. "With the busy summer movie season upon us, we hope to continue to make moviegoing as convenient as possible for the nation's film fans."
