Triple Play Service Provider Everest Offering Caller ID on TV Service to Customers in Missouri and Kansas using Integra5 Technology
Integra5's UniTV Technology Gives Caller ID Service a Starring Role on TV; Caller's Name and Telephone Number Displayed on Customer's TV Before the Phone Rings
BURLINGTON, Mass., June 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Integra5, the pioneer in converged quad play messaging and communications technology, today announced that Everest, a Kansas City-based telephone, cable TV and high-speed Internet provider, has deployed its UniTV(TM) converged services platform and UniTV Visual Telephony product suite to power its new Caller ID on TV service. Rolled out to customers in April, the new service displays a caller's name and phone number on a customer's TV before the phone rings and is the first of multiple advanced services that Everest plans to deploy from Integra5's UniTV platform.
Serving residential and business customers in Missouri and Kansas, Everest operates a state-of-the-art, fiber optic network over which it offers bundles of voice, data and video service that include:
* Digital Cable -- with over 290 video and music channels
* Local and Long Distance Telephone -- including optional calling features
and voicemail
* High-Speed Internet Access -- featuring three tiers of cable modem
service
Already successful based on its ability to deliver more entertainment and communications options combined with better customer service in a very competitive market, Everest's deployment of Integra5's UniTV platform to deliver its Caller ID on TV service is further evidence of the company's focus on constantly evolving and integrating the services it offers to benefit its customers.
"Everest is very excited to be one of the first cable companies in the country to launch Caller ID on TV, but this is just the tip of the iceberg of what Integra5's UniTV will enable our fiber optic network to deliver," said Ken Johnson, chief technology officer for Everest. "This new service marks the beginning of our evolution toward integrated voice, data and video services that feature personalized content and customer-defined delivery to TVs and PCs."
Simplifying service activation, no new customer equipment is required for Everest's Caller ID on TV service as it uses Integra5's network-based technology to automatically display the name and telephone number of the person calling on their TV a second before the phone rings. The service includes complementary Integra5 products accessed via their TV remote control, including Call History to view a list of incoming calls including the caller's name, number and time and date of call, and Telephony Control Panel so customers can modify the duration of the Caller ID on TV display on their screen.
"The success of innovative service providers like Everest underscores the strong market demand for bundles of voice, video and data services," said Dr. Eyal Bartfeld, president and CEO of Integra5. "UniTV represents the next step in the evolution of triple or quad play offerings, by breaking through the silos of individual services and integrating content and features into entirely new services that are compelling to customers, drive revenue growth and provide clear differentiation from the service bundles of competing service providers."
To offer its Caller ID on TV service, Everest deployed Integra5's UniTV converged services platform in its head end where UniTV recognizes incoming calls, creates the display information and sends it to the appropriate customer's TV. The patented technology is standards-based, features a distributed architecture that can scale to support up to millions of subscribers, and has the processing performance required for real-time delivery of signals and information between data, telephone (public switched and IP), cable TV (traditional and IP) and cellular networks.
Integra5's UniTV platform has been commercially deployed with multiple telco and cable service providers since mid 2004.
