What's Old Is New Again ... Vintage Style Sparkles In QVC's Antiques Roadshow Jewelry Collection
WEST CHESTER, Pa., June 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Retro accessories are all the rage, so who better to look to for new jewelry inspired by antique pieces than the renowned experts from PBS's hit series Antiques Roadshow? QVC will premiere the Antiques Roadshow Jewelry Collection on Friday, June 17 at 2 PM (ET) in a one-hour show featuring official Antiques Roadshow appraiser and prominent jewelry collector Jeanenne Bell.
Taking a cue from the widely popular PBS television series, which attracts 10.5 million viewers a week, QVC teamed up with Antiques Roadshow to create a thirteen-piece collection ranging in price from approximately $20 to approximately $100. The pieces in the new QVC line were inspired by antiques appraised on Antiques Roadshow as well as designs from Bell's extensive personal collection.
"Most people collect antiques for their mysterious appeal, the feeling that each piece has a story to tell, a history that modern objects lack. The Antiques Roadshow Jewelry Collection evokes the classic allure of the most spectacular vintage pieces that I've found at Roadshow events over the years," says Bell.
The timeless pieces, which include brooches, rings, earrings, bracelets, lockets and a watch, embody the bold looks of the Victorian and Art Deco eras. With cameo details, geometric designs, simulated gemstones, faux mother-of-pearl and black onyx, floral settings and antiqued metals, the collection is reminiscent of the glamorous 1920s, '30s and '50s.
"QVC's Antiques Roadshow Jewelry Collection is all about conversation pieces that look and feel like vintage jewelry from long ago, collected by top auction houses and experienced dealers," said Catherine Coquillard, QVC's vice president of jewelry merchandising. "We are excited to present the collection, and Jeanenne's impressive wealth of knowledge, to our viewers."
The Antiques Roadshow Jewelry Collection will be available through QVC beginning June 17 at 800.345.1515 or http://www.qvc.com/.
