On Command Announces CANVAS 2 HD Menu System
New Software Technology Enables In-Room Entertainment Company to Fully Customize High Definition Menu System for Hotel Properties
DENVER, June 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- On Command Video Corporation, a leading provider of in-room interactive entertainment for the hotel industry and its guests, announced today it will be demonstrating its new HD menu system software at HITEC 2005 in Los Angeles.
The new menu system, CANVAS 2, an extension of the industry-popular CANVAS software, enables On Command to create unique menu interfaces for its hotel partners. On Command can now provide unique video elements, type fonts and graphic elements as well as unique navigation elements to hotels. It is also a part of On Command's total end-to-end HD+ solution. The menu system can be displayed in full 16:9 ratio in high definition quality, which capitalizes on LCD and plasma technology.
"Unique means just that," said Tad Walden, senior vice president of marketing and programming for On Command. "Whether it's the colors, fonts, navigational style, photos or positioning of the graphic elements, we've opened up the menu design to enable us to create something for a hotel that will only appear in its property. It's not semi-customized, it's fully customized."
The CANVAS system is an advanced software solution that presents menu system content faster. Hotel guests can easily access menu categories and content and make purchases. The CANVAS system is rich with graphic elements and video MPEG's that provide on-screen guest communication.
