UK Shock-Jock Wins World's Biggest Radio Awards

BIRMINGHAM, England, May 26/PRNewswire/ -- We may have lost the Eurovision but there is still hope for the UK -
we're not all losers...With a reputation for being the nations most
uncontrollable radio presenter, Tim Shaw of Kerrang! Radio, has just cleaned
up at the world's largest international radio awards. He has won Gold for
Best Comedian and the show, the Asylum, has won Silver for Best Scheduled
Comedy Programme at the New York Radio Awards. (The first time for years that
the same person has won two medals in one year). Fittingly, the Asylum is
sponsored by Trojan, America's biggest selling condoms.

Branded as the UK's answer to Howard Stern, Shaw is convinced
that the tapes must have been mixed up, "A mistake has been made, someone
must have switched my entries for Wogan's."

"But seriously, I'd like to thank everyone else in the UK for
not being good enough. Radio in the UK at the moment is knocking at hells
door - the same rubbish being recycled again and again, UK radio is tired and
we're changing that - television has seen the revolution and I'm leading the
way in radio - I am the liberator of UK radio!"

When asked what he plans to do with the trophies, Shaw replied,
"Give them to my Nan, she deserves them more than I do - she still hasn't
worked out that when I'm asking her about her sex life, 3.5 million people
are listening in."

Having been sacked from every one of the eight radio stations
he has worked for (including EMAP, Capital and BBC) and also receiving the
nations largest radio fine, Shaw has also just been awarded with EMAP's most
prestigious radio award - Entertainer of the Year. Some would say that this
is an even bigger achievement, as it was EMAP who was ordered to pay the
fifty thousand pound fine and vowed "Tim Shaw will not work for EMAP again".

When asked to comment on this Shaw replied, "Back in the early days I was
young, immature and inexperienced. Five years later I was amazingly offered a
chance to put things right and that is what I'm doing - paying the fine off
with awards!"

Some of Shaw's other antics to have hit the headlines have
included - breaking a listeners arm, eating dog, flying with 1000 helium
filled condoms, deep-throating a sausage and needing to be saved by
paramedics, telling his sister-in-law that he thinks of her whilst having sex
with his wife and most recently burgling his bosses house.

Shaw's plans for the future in radio - "To have a future in radio and
keep this job."
