Starz Entertainment Group Expands Its Programming Team

Michael Ruggiero Joins as Vice President, Programming & Scheduling

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., May 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Starz Entertainment Group LLC (SEG) announced today that Michael Ruggiero has joined the SEG programming team as vice president, programming and scheduling where he oversees strategic program and promotion scheduling for the seven Encore channels. Additionally, Ruggiero's responsibilities include development and creation of original programming for the Starz and Encore channels.

Ruggiero reports to both Jonathan Shair, vice president, program and promotion scheduling for scheduling and promotions, and Stephan Shelanski, senior vice president, programming for original productions.

Ruggiero comes to SEG from The Independent Film Channel (IFC) where he was vice president, programming and scheduling, and oversaw the program scheduling, promotion and packaging and produced original programming for the network.

A graduate from SUNY Empire State College with a BS in communication arts, Ruggiero also studied film production at New York's School of Visual Arts (SVA). He currently resides in Denver with his wife Stacey and two daughters.
