Eat'n Park Restaurants to Offer American Idol Runner Up $10,000 Recording Contract
Family Dining Chain Invites Singer to Record Jingle to Shake Up New Summer Menu
PITTSBURGH, May 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Roll over Beethoven. Eat'n Park Restaurants -- one of America's favorite family restaurant chains -- today announces it will award American Idol's first runner up with a $10,000 recording contract to sing the family dining chain's summer menu jingle.
"For more than 50 years, Eat'n Park has been rocking the restaurant world with its award-winning food across three states, so now we're excited about the prospect of pairing the Eat'n Park name with one of America's hottest young singers," said Kevin O'Connell, senior vice president of Marketing, Eat'n Park. "Whether it's Carrie (Underwood) or Bo (Bice), we believe they will bring a great, all-American hardworking edge to our new radio spot."
Eat'n Park Restaurants is a family dining chain with 79 locations across Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia, and employs more than 8,000 team members company-wide.
Eat'n Park's new radio jingle, "It's All Here," can be heard at www.eatnpark.com/news.asp . The new song was written by singer/songwriter Bob Corbin, who worked with Market Street Sound, Pittsburgh, to produce the piece. Corbin is famous for a number of #1 pop and country hits, including "Can't Keep a Good Man Down" and "Fire in the Night," for super group Alabama. His work also includes commercial jingles for Pepsi(R) and Doritos(R), among other products.
According to O'Connell, the jingle will be re-recorded by American Idol's first runner up if Eat'n Park's offer is accepted for use both in radio and television advertisements.
"We are very proud of Corbin's radio spot and jingle, and now we have the unique opportunity to really raise it to a new level by having one of America's newest singing sensations lend his or her talent to the Eat'n Park sound just in time for our new summer menu," said O'Connell.
Some of Eat'n Park's rockin' new summer specials will include Southwest Chicken Quesadillas, Arizona Fire-Roasted Chicken Salad, Tuscan Chicken Sandwich, Kansas City BBQ Burger and more.
"Our team members and guests are buzzing with the news that Eat'n Park is making this offer to the runner up," said O'Connell. "We think the show, in general, and particularly the work ethic of Carrie and Bo, epitomizes the kind of can-do attitude that so many of our team members and guests respect."
Eat'n Park will make a formal offer to the runner-up after American Idol airs on Wednesday, May 25, 8 p.m. (EDT).
