'Days of our Lives' Star Melissa Reeves Takes on a New Role as On-Air Correspondent for 'CMT INSIDER'
NASHVILLE, Tenn., May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- When viewers of CMT's weekly series CMT INSIDER tune in this month, they will see a familiar face. Fans of the hit NBC daytime drama, "Days of our Lives," will see star Melissa Reeves ("Jennifer Horton Deveraux") behind a microphone and interviewing their favorite country stars as she takes on the new role of on-air correspondent this summer while CMT INSIDER Los Angeles correspondent Lisa Lee takes maternity leave. Reeves' first appearance will be on a special ACM Post-Show edition of CMT INSIDER on Thursday, May 19 at 8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT.*
Reeves is no stranger to the country music industry. She has been making appearances in Nashville with the stars of NBC Daytime at the CMA Music Festival for the past five years. Reeves has also been a regular fixture on the red carpet with her husband, Scott Reeves, one-half of the CMA and ACM nominated country duo "Blue County." Now, as she continues her role on "Days of our Lives," Reeves will get a little bit country and give fans an inside look at the world of country music.
After a five year absence, in 2005, Melissa Reeves triumphantly returned to "Days of our Lives" and the role of Jennifer Horton, one of daytime television's most beloved characters. She originated the role in September of 1985 and has since earned four Soap Opera awards and a place among television's most beloved heroines. Reeves studied theatre at the prestigious Lee Strasberg Institute in Manhattan and her first foray into daytime television was on NBC's "Another World." Her first contract job was the role of Jade Perkins on "Santa Barbara," and that was followed by her role on "Days of our Lives," for which she is most well known. Reeves met her husband, Scott, ("Blue Country") when he joined the cast of "Days" in 1988, before going on to star as Ryan on "Young and The Restless." The two live with their two children in Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley.
