David Beckham Makes First U.S. Appearance Live on Pay-Per-View as England Battles Colombia on May 31

LOS ANGELES, May 23 /PRNewswire/ -- International soccer superstar David Beckham will make his U.S. debut on May 31 in a prestigious international match between England and Colombia (4:00 p.m. ET) that will be carried live on Pay-Per-View and Closed Circuit TV in the United States, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The game will take place at Giants Stadium and is hosted by the MetroStars in conjunction with Soccer United Marketing (SUM), AEG-TV and the English Football Association.

Sven-Goran Eriksson, the England National Team coach, will also field star forward Michael Owen as England battles the Colombian National Team led by Ivan Ramiro Cordoba and Mario Alberto Yepes.

The match will mark England's first trip to the Tri-State area since 1976 and the tour will be the first in the United States since the team participated in the 1993 U.S. Cup.

This historic soccer event will be offered Live for only $19.95 on Pay-Per-View. To order consumers should call their pay per view service provider, generally their home cable or satellite service.
