Scripps To Report First Quarter Results; Web Cast of Conference Call Available

CINCINNATI, March 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The E. W. Scripps Company (NYSE:SSP) will report first quarter 2005 operating results before trading on the New York Stock Exchange begins Thursday, April 14. A telephone conference call with members of the company's senior management team will follow at 9 a.m. ET.

Scripps will offer a live audio Web cast of the conference call. To access the Web cast, visit http://www.scripps.com/ and follow the "Live Web Cast" link at the top of the page. Listeners need Windows Media Player to access the call online.

To access the conference call by telephone, dial 1-877-209-0397 (U.S.) or 1-612-332-0932 (International), approximately 10 minutes before the start of the call. Callers will need the name of the call (First quarter earnings report) to be granted access. Callers also will be asked to provide their name and company affiliation. The media and general public are provided access to the conference call on a listen-only basis.
