Miramax Television, Live Planet Keep Project Greenlight Going With Help From Energizer(R) e2(R) Lithium
LOS ANGELES, March 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- As Project Greenlight begins its third season, it will be powered by the world's longest lasting batteries in high-tech devices. Energizer Holdings, Inc., today announced that it has partnered with Miramax Television and Live Planet to integrate Energizer(R) e2(R) Lithium batteries into the television production of the hit reality show Project Greenlight on Bravo. Project Greenlight is a screenplay contest where amateur filmmakers compete for the opportunity to make a movie for Dimension Films. In addition to making their movie, the winners will also have their feature distributed nationally in theatres and on DVD. Originally started by award winning actor/writer/producers Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and Chris Moore, this year's contest will surround the creation of a full-length horror film -- with a little help from horror master Wes Craven.
The Energizer(R) e2(R) Lithium battery partnership with Miramax and Live Planet includes signage and product references throughout segments of the show. In addition Energizer(R) e2(R) Lithium is the preferred battery of the entire production crew of Project Greenlight. Designed specifically for high-tech devices that demand optimum performance and reliability, Energizer(R) e2(R) Lithium lasts up to seven times longer in digital cameras than ordinary alkaline batteries (results vary by camera).
"Working with Energizer was an asset to the production and they were a valuable partner to make the third season of Project Greenlight a reality," said Chris Moore, executive producer for Live Planet and Project Greenlight. "The fact is, we couldn't get our hands on enough Energizer(R) e2(R) Lithium batteries during the production --- Talk about KEEP GOING!"
"We are thrilled to be working with such an innovative and ground-breaking show like Project Greenlight," said Jeff Ziminski, Vice President North American Marketing, Energizer Battery, Inc. "Working with the cast and crew of Project Greenlight was a great experience and it was nice to see how everyone responded to our Energizer(R) e2(R) Lithium batteries."
In addition to the on-air presence that Energizer(R) e2(R) Lithium batteries will have during the reality show, Project Greenlight and Energizer will also be running an online digital photography contest starting on March 15 that will give consumers a chance to become an official "red carpet" photographer at the premiere of the Project Greenlight movie called FEAST written by Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan and directed by John Gulager. In addition, the winner will be given an HP 945 digital camera. The contest directs hopefuls to the website http://www.youtake5.com/ where they are instructed to tell a story in five digital photos. They choose the title, subject and genre. Judges will choose the grand-prize winner based on creativity, originality, technical execution and storytelling ability. Judges will also award five first-prize winners an HP 945 digital camera and a year's supply of Energizer(R) e2(R) Lithium batteries.
