Where are the AirTran Airways Planes Featuring Elton John?

The Answer in the Sky - and on the Airline's Web Site

ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:AAI), today announced that fans across the country can now track all AirTran Airways flights that feature the Boeing 717 aircraft that have Elton John's image and XM Satellite Radio on them on the airline's web site at http://www.airtran.com/ . "Due to the overwhelming number of calls we have received since we rolled out the first plane with Elton John and XM Satellite Radio earlier this week, we are publishing the information on our website through our official Elton Tracking System (ETS) so people can see the planes," said Tad Hutcheson, AirTran Airways director of marketing.

AirTran Airways became the first commercial airline in the world to install XM Satellite Radio on its aircraft this week with the launch of the first flight featuring the service, and music legend Elton John helped unveil a commemorative aircraft livery that will adorn a select number of AirTran Airways' planes. More than 20 of AirTran Airways' Boeing 717s will feature a livery (wrap) showcasing a colorful rendering of Elton John sporting a smile and, as always, a pair of fashionable glasses. The livery design also features Elton John's single "The Answer in the Sky" from his latest CD, Peachtree Road.

AirTran Airways' XM service provides more than 100 channels of digital- quality, commercial-free music, news, sports, talk and entertainment to passengers, who may either bring their personal headsets or purchase headsets from the airline for a nominal charge.

AirTran Airways, one of America's largest low-fare airlines with 6,000 friendly, professional Crew Members, operates over 500 daily flights to more than 40 destinations. The airline's hub is at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, where it is the second largest carrier. AirTran Airways, the world's largest operator of the Boeing 717, recently added the fuel-efficient Boeing 737-700 aircraft to create America's youngest all-Boeing fleet. The airline is also the first carrier to install XM Satellite Radio on a commercial aircraft. For reservations or more information, visit airtran.com (America Online Keyword: AirTran).
