Survey Says ... Pats By a Point
Survey Says ... Pats By a Point
ATLANTA, Feb. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- An extra point is all that separates the percentage of fans rooting for the New England Patriots to win Super Bowl XXXIX from those hoping the Philadelphia Eagles will fly away with the Lombardi Trophy. That is according to a new nationwide poll by InsiderAdvantage, an Atlanta-based news service that asked football fans who they were cheering for in this year's game.
Results showed that out of a sample size of 600 respondents, 31 percent want the Patriots to win their third Super Bowl in four years while 30 percent are cheering for the Eagles to earn their first-ever world championship. The rest of the sample set has no preference.
"The NFL's parity program has gone beyond the teams and is now being reflected in public opinion," InsiderAdvantage Chairman and Creator Syndicate columnist Matt Towery said.
InsiderAdvantage, surveys also appear regularly on shows such as CNN's Capitol Gang, Inside Politics, and other major networks. The sample size was weighted by national census data according to race, age, gender and geography. Margin of error on the survey is plus or minus 4.
InsiderAdvantage was founded in 2000 by company Chairman Matt Towery, a former Georgia state representative. InsiderAdvantage polls are nationally syndicated through Creator's Syndicate. Matt Towery's national column is based out of Jacksonville's Florida Times Union.
