NTN Communications Releases Texas Hold 'Em Poker on Super Bowl Sunday

NTN Communications Releases Texas Hold 'Em Poker on Super Bowl Sunday

CARLSBAD, Calif., Feb. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NTN Hospitality Technologies, a division of NTN Communications, Inc. (AMEX:NTN), a leader in interactive communications and entertainment products for the hospitality industry, announced today its launch of NTN Texas Hold 'Em Poker on Super Bowl Sunday to the over 900 eligible NTN sites that subscribe to the enhanced NTN iTV2 Network(TM).

Capitalizing on the widespread and unprecedented consumer interest in Texas Hold 'Em poker, and using the most popular day of the year for sports bar attendance, NTN Hospitality Technologies successfully launched its interactive version of Texas Hold 'Em in sports bars and casual dining establishments across North America. The new interactive NTN Texas Hold 'Em poker game allows up to 10 players to play against each other using NTN's hand-held, wireless Playmaker(R) devices at a virtual table displayed on televisions in the hospitality venues.

The release of NTN Texas Hold 'Em follows a successful beta test of the game, which took place in select NTN locations over a 3 week period. Ian Lai, General Manager of Buffalo Wild Wings in Gilbert, Arizona, participated in the test phase of NTN Texas Hold 'Em, and commented, "The consensus is that NTN Texas Hold 'Em has really been enjoyed by our customers. People like it. Trivia is still hot, but Texas Hold 'Em is picking up a lot of steam. NTN should have a big success on their hands."

Ray Benoist, Director of Operations for the Damon's franchise group in Marlboro, New Jersey a location that also participated in the test, shares the excitement, adding, "I have been in other NTN locations before and I have never seen customers ask for a specific game. Now, customers are specifically asking for Playmakers in order to play Texas Hold 'Em."

"When it comes to a new product introduction, there is nothing that matches the power of the Super Bowl," commented Mark deGorter, President and Chief Operating Officer. "The debut of our new Texas Hold 'Em game on Super Bowl Sunday allowed us to take advantage of what is considered the biggest day of the year for our subscribers, and generate the highest awareness levels possible to our new iTV2 sites featuring the game. Texas Hold 'Em is our key focal point for 2005 and yesterday's launch provided a strong platform to kick it off. We believe that the promise of Texas Hold 'Em helped lead to our strong sales growth over the past year and hope that it will improve our long-term site retention."

All new installations feature NTN Texas Hold 'Em as part of the NTN BLAST programming on its iTV2 platform at no additional charge.
