CHICAGO, Feb. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- There's only one place to find the lowest United and Ted(SM) fares -- United guarantees you'll find them at united.com or flyted.com.

If a customer can find a fare on the same United, United Express or Ted flight that is at least $5 USD less each way on another Web site, United will award each qualifying customer an electronic certificate totaling $50 plus the difference in fare. The certificate is redeemable for one year from date of issue for a future United Airlines purchase through united.com. To take advantage of the "Everyone Must Go" low fares,** customers must book U.S. domestic travel by Feb. 18, 2005, and travel must be complete by May 25, 2005. International dates may vary. To get the word out, United is launching print, radio, television, e-mail and online banner advertising.

1. The united.com and flyted.com low fare guarantee applies to customers who make a qualifying airfare purchase on United Airlines, Ted, or United Express carriers, and do so through the united.com or flyted.com Web site on or after February 7, 2005. The offer is not valid for itineraries that include flights operated by other airlines (such as United-marketed code share and Star Alliance flights).

2. Your claim must be made by midnight Central Time of the same day on which the ticket is purchased. Claims must be made by filling out an online claim form on united.com or flyted.com. The claim must satisfy all terms and conditions and must be submitted in compliance with the claims processing procedures, all as set out herein. Claims for the low fare guarantee may only be made through the online claim form. No other claims will be accepted.

3. Tickets must be the least expensive available on united.com or flyted.com for the chosen itinerary at the time of purchase. The guarantee is valid only for published retail fares available on the Internet for the exact same flight(s), travel date(s), and travel itinerary for the same number of passenger(s). Fares must be in the exact same cabin(s) (First, Business, Economy) and carry the exact same fare rules and restrictions. Tickets must be purchased with a credit card and valid U.S. billing address and travel must originate in the 50 United States.

4. United Airlines must be able to verify the lower online fare online at the time of claim. The confirmed airfare purchased on united.com or flyted.com will be compared to the available airfare on the screen just prior to purchase confirmation of the other Web site, which must be an accredited distributor of United airfare. Please keep a copy of methods of verification (e.g., fax, screen prints) in case additional verification is necessary.

5. The low fare guarantee does not apply to unpublished fares that are not available to the general public and fares that cannot be purchased on united.com or flyted.com. Fares not available to the general public include, but are not limited to, corporate, military, government, wholesaler, consolidator, opaque agencies and other discount fares. The low fare guarantee does not apply to package fares, such as airfares sold as part of a travel package, nor does it apply to airfares on another Web site that have been reduced as a result of promotional discounts, such as dollars-off coupons, loyalty program discounts or fly-free offers. The low fare guarantee does not apply to tickets that you choose to refund.

6. Guarantee does not apply to fare differences of less than $5.00 for one-way travel and $10.00 for roundtrip travel. For qualifying fare differences, United will issue the passenger(s) an electronic certificate totaling $50 plus the difference in fare (rounded up to the nearest $5 increment). The electronic certificate is redeemable for a future United Airlines purchase. The electronic certificate is only valid for use through united.com or flyted.com and is valid one year from date of issue. The electronic certificate may only be applied to travel within the 50 United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. All terms and conditions listed on the electronic certificate apply to usage. Electronic certificates will not be replaced for any reason.

7. The electronic certificate for the difference in fare plus an additional $50 is the sole and exclusive compensation that will be provided for United's failure to fulfill its low fare guarantee.

8. United is the final authority on the interpretation of these rules. United Airlines reserves the right to terminate this offer at any time without notice.

** U.S./INTERNATIONAL FARE FACTS: Fares above are each-way based on required roundtrip purchase for United Economy(R) travel on United Airlines(R), Ted(SM), and United Express(R) carriers. Tickets purchased through United reservation offices are $5 per ticket higher and tickets purchased at airport ticket counters are $10 per ticket higher. Itinerary Changes -- International: Tickets are non-refundable, but the return portion may be changed for a fee ($100 for Latin, $150 for Pacific and $200 for Atlantic destinations), provided the new itinerary is within the parameters of this offer, minimum and maximum stay requirements are met, and the origin and destination are not changed. If the reservation is cancelled before the ticketed departure date, the itinerary may be rebooked up to one year from the original ticket issue date for a service charge ($100 for Latin, $150 for Pacific and $200 for Atlantic destinations). If a reservation is not cancelled before the ticketed departure date, the ticket has no value. Other Conditions: Fares are subject to change without notice. Other restrictions may apply.
