MEIC Receives Initial Funding Commitment to Become Key Player of Satellite Radio Talk
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Media International Concepts, Inc. (OTC Pink Sheets: MEIC-NEWS) announced today that it has received an initial funding commitment to implement its previously announced plan to develop several pilot talk shows aimed at the Satellite Radio industry which includes companies such as Sirius and XM. The funding commitment of up to $1,000,000 is non-dilutive to current shareholders and is from BERING Venture, a private placement fund based in Europe.
With the realization that Satellite Radio operations appear to be emphasizing programs hosted by celebrities, such as Sirius' strategy of signing Howard Stern, Media International and the writer/producers who are its program co-producers are in development on several celebrity driven talk show pilots.
This is only the first step in the Media international plan to penetrate the potentially multi-billion dollar Satellite Radio industry by becoming a key program supplier. Similar to the marketplace strategy of its infomercial subsidiary, Opportunity Productions, in the direct response industry, the Company is hopeful that it will be able to capture a slice of that growth market, which will then bring significant revenue to its core business.
