What: A fundraiser for The Rhythm & Blues Foundation. H.E.R.B.I.E
honors The Chi-Lites, Benjamin Wright, Paul Jackson Jr., Fox
Television, Universal Pictures, Herb Kent, Clarence Avant,
Tom Burrell/Burrell Advertising, Coca Cola, The Gap, Inc.,
Coolio, Chevrolet, and Jive Records/Zomba Music Group for
their contributions to Rhythm & Blues/Soul music.

The Rhythm and Blues Foundation's mission "to encourage wider
recognition of artists; to preserve the historical and
cultural importance of the rhythm and blues music of the 40s,
50s, 60s and 70s, by increasing appreciation for the art
form; and to develop new audiences." The funds help support
various programs and services, which provide financial
assistance and support to the dedicated artists who
contributed to the performance of America's soul music.

Who: Performances by: Little Milton, Harold Melvin & The Blue
Notes, Betty Wright, The Intruders, Cuba Gooding Sr. of the
Main Ingredients, Raphael Saadiq, The Chi-Lites, Twista,
Shirley Jones of The Jones Girls, Coolio, Jake Simpson,
United We Funk All Star Band (comprised of The Barkays,
Confunkshun, Midnight Star, The Dazz Band, and Lenny
Williams). There will be a special appearance by ten times
Grammy nominee Kanye West. In attendance also will be Love
Unlimited, The Emotions and The Brothers Johnson. Presenters
and host include: Clifton Powell, Lewis Dix, Cindy Birdsong,
BET Comic View All Stars, Claudette Robinson, Grammy winners
and nominees.
