Wisair Demos Latest UWB Applications With AGC, ASUS, D-Link, HP, Intel, NEC, TI, and Two Large Japanese CE Vendors, at CES 2005

Highlights: Wireless USB, Wireless Video, Wireless Media Adaptors

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading communication and consumer electronics companies will be using Wisair Ultra-Wide Band technology to demonstrate UWB based applications at the coming CES 2005 show.

Leading up to the event, Wisair showcased a new high performance, small-size development kit -- the DV9100 demonstrating wireless USB, wireless video and other UWB applications. The DV9100 is based on Wisair two chip solution.

The following companies will be demonstrating UWB-enabled applications based on Wisair technology, using the DV9100 kit:

* Asahi Glass Co. (AGC) is showing a first prototype of a UWB USB Dongle.
The small form fit dongle will enable connectivity between PC's and
multiple other UWB enabled peripherals
* ASUS is demonstrating UWB WUSB connectivity, sharing video, audio and
graphic content through the ASUS S-presso entertainment PC
* D-Link will be demonstrating UWB connectivity between a wireless media
player and an Entertainment System using a D-Link Wireless Media adaptor
* Wisair will be demonstrating an HP All-in-One solution in which Hewlett
Packard and Wisair have collaborated on and agreed to demonstrate at CES
* Intel is demonstrating Wireless USB PC host solution enabling UWB based
connectivity to PC peripherals and other Consumer Electronic devices
* NEC Electronics' Wireless USB Device Wire Adapter (DWA) prototype
combined with Wisair's UWB module is part of Intel WUSB demonstration
* TI will be demonstrating Wireless USB application based on TI's Wireless
USB controller and Wisair DV9100 development kit
* Additional two large Japanese consumer electronic brands are using
Wisair technology to demonstrate Wireless Video streaming application

Wisair will be demonstrating UWB applications at the MBOA pavilion and in a private meeting room including:

and legacy USB 2.0 devices such as remote hard disk, printer / scanner
and high quality PC camera
* Wireless Video applications streaming High Definition content to high
resolution flat displays and wireless media adapters using UWB to
connect a home PC with the home entertainment system
* Co-existence and immunity to interference with other wireless
technologies such as 802.11a and cellular telephones
