Attention Women - Challenge Yourself to Become Nutrition Savvy in 2005
Nutrition Challenge Takes Focus Off of Losing Weight, Concentrates on Health and Wellness
SACRAMENTO, Calif., Jan. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- January 1st ushers in the New Year along with the same old resolution -- to exercise and lose weight. Millions of women make the pledge, yet the yearly promise typically fades as quickly as holiday decorations. Mealsmatter.org, a non-commercial website sponsored by the Dairy Council of California, will launch the Nutrition Challenge on January 10th as a way to keep women motivated to meet their 2005 nutrition goals.
The Nutrition Challenge is a web-based, three-week program that helps participants design a healthy living routine that fits their needs, can be done on their own schedule and requires no participation fee. The Challenge does not focus on weight loss or stringent exercise, but instead on how to develop healthy habits that contribute to overall well-being. Over the three-week period, participants will work toward completing nutrition goals unique to their personal needs. Interactive tools will help participants develop realistic nutrition goals, learn how certain foods can help manage weight and improve overall health, plan meals and discover healthier ways to prepare favorite foods.
The Nutrition Challenge starts January 10th and continues through the week of January 24th. A new nutrition topic and corresponding activities are introduced each week.

basics and create realistic goals for change.
-- Week 2 -- Weighing Your Options -- Learn what foods and nutrients can
help you maintain your weight and ensure good health.
-- Week 3 -- Planning Healthy Meals -- Discover how to give your meals a
healthy makeover and learn the benefits of meal planning.
Structured to fit busy lifestyles, women can register anytime during the three weeks and complete the online activities from previous weeks. To join the Nutrition Challenge, log on to www.mealsmatter.org and complete the registration form. Those who complete all three weeks are eligible to win a $200 grocery coupon. Participants must sign up by January 14th to be eligible for the prize.
