Season Premiere of 'The Surreal Life' Dreams Up VH1's Highest Rated Telecast in Four Years

'Strange Love' Scores as VH1's Highest Rated Series Premiere Ever

'Celebrity Fit Club' Admits 1.5 Million Viewers to Its Premiere

NEW YORK, Jan. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- New year, new records at VH1 where this past Sunday night's launch of its three new "celebreality" series yielded the network its second most watched day in its history.

The season premiere of "The Surreal Life" scored a 1.6 in the 18-49 demo making it VH1's highest rated telecast in nearly five years and the highest rated episode of a VH1 original series ever.

The 9 p.m. premiere of the fourth season, which features Da Brat, Chyna Doll, Christopher Knight from "The Brady Bunch," Jane Wiedlin of The Go Gos, Vern Troyer, Marcus Schenkenberg and Adrianne Curry of the first "America's Next Top Model," attracted an average 2.25 million viewers P 2+.

VH1 viewers were also enchanted by the new series "Strange Love," starring Flavor Flav and Brigitte Nielsen. The series debuted at 10 p.m. as VH1's highest rated series premiere of all time, averaging a 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demo. An average of 1.8 million viewers P 2+ tuned into the first episode.

"Celebrity Fit Club," the third series premiere last night, continued VH1's hot pace for the night, averaging a 1.1 in the 18-49 demo. The series features Daniel Baldwin, Kim Coles, Joe Gannascoli ("The Sopranos"), Biz Markie, Ralphie May, Judge Mablean Ephriam ("Divorce Court"), Mia Tyler and Wendy the Snapple Lady all competing on teams to lose the most weight. An average 1.5 million viewers P 2+ watched the series premiere at 11 p.m.
