San Diego Telecom Council Promotes Julia Wilson to CEO

SAN DIEGO, Jan. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The San Diego Telecom Council (SDTC), the premier organization promoting growth of the region's telecommunications industry, has promoted Julia Wilson to chief executive officer. In addition to re-defining some of the key roles and responsibilities of the board, the move also signals a more expanded vision for the Council.

"During recent uncertain economic times, Julia successfully managed to enhance the financial strength of the Council and to increase participation in our many events," said Mark Steele, chairman of the SDTC. "We are extremely happy to announce Julia's well-deserved promotion to CEO."

For the past four years, Wilson has served as executive director of the Council. During that time, she managed all aspects of the organization including fundraising, member relations, daily operations and promoting awareness of the San Diego telecommunications community. In her new role, Wilson will continue to oversee operations but will also assume responsibility for the development of new Council initiatives and take a larger role in managing key client relationships on a national and international level.

"My goal for next year is to put San Diego on the international map as the place to come when foreign telecom companies wish to buy technology, form partnerships or establish a U.S. presence," Wilson says. "The international spotlight will foster the growth of our industry and thus the economic strength of San Diego."
