Sutter Health @ Work (SH@W) Selects CompassCare Inc. to Provide Its Medical Information Platform for Occupational Healthcare
Workers Compensation Case Management Made Easier With New Web-Service Solution From CompassCare Inc.
CHICAGO, Dec. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Sutter Health @ Work ("SH@W"), a leading provider of occupational healthcare in Northern California, has selected CompassCare Inc. as its partner for a medical information platform. "SH@W and CompassCare share a dedication to high quality and error-free clinical care," said Dr. Michael Cowen, MD, and Medical Director of SH@W's occupational healthcare clinics. "CompassCare's technology platform will provide our clinicians with the latest evidence-based ACOEM data at the point of care, giving them a valuable tool to assist in making informed decisions. This will enable us to communicate better, provide important information and provide more effective services for our employer clients and their injured workers."
CompassCare's clinical information system will optimize SH@W's practice by streamlining their workflow with CompassCare's rules-based methodology. This integrated solution will enable SH@W to send in "real-time" a HIPAA-compliant electronic medical record and all associated billing information to their clients. CompassCare is the only company to offer the occupational healthcare industry a fully digital medical record. This integrated approach reduces costs for healthcare providers, employers and payers alike. Together they can improve quality of care and medical management, while getting the employee the treatment they need as quickly as possible.
The CompassCare MedTRAK(R) architecture shares information through a unified clinical data repository, allowing SH@W to deploy an integrated web-service IT system that enables clinicians to electronically access medical records as well as obtain the latest evidence-based knowledge in a secure and confidential environment. The care provider can now track a person's health history and treatment over time and across multiple healthcare facilities without having to install and maintain costly software.
Clinicians at Sutter will use CompassCare's computerized physician order entry (CPOE) solution to synchronize workflow around the complex process of medical information management. CompassCare's system includes modules for billing, finance, scheduling, prescription, employer, case management and payer claim management. Such capabilities will permit SH@W to share HIPAA-compliant medical information in "real-time" with their MPN, Medical Partners @ Work ("MP@W") and their employer clients. This improves decision-making and clinical processes, provides benchmarking capabilities, and increases customer satisfaction.
"SH@W's occupational health program and CompassCare bring together all of the resources necessary to ensure the highest quality of care is supported with the latest technology," said Stuart Johnstone, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CompassCare Inc. "Our collaborative partnership enables us to integrate innovative technology with the clinical expertise of the SH@W clinicians. As a result, we will provide significant value to their employer clients."
SH@W's agreement with CompassCare was signed in late October of 2004 and will be operational in January 2005.
