SIRIUS Satellite Radio to Join NASDAQ-100 Index
Listing on QQQQ to Become Effective December 20
NEW YORK, Dec. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SIRIUS Satellite Radio (NASDAQ:SIRI) will be added to the NASDAQ-100 Index effective December 20. The NASDAQ-100 Index comprises the 100 largest non-financial stocks listed on the NASDAQ Stock Market based on market capitalization. Shares of SIRIUS will be included in the NASDAQ-100 Index Tracking Stock (NASDAQ:QQQQ).

Over the last 12 months SIRIUS has nearly quadrupled its subscriber base, from 261,000 at the beginning of this year to an estimated million subscribers by the end of this year. The company also announced a series of high-profile programming additions, including play-by-play broadcasts of the NFL, the addition of Howard Stern in 2006 and exclusive channels featuring Elvis Presley and Eminem, among others.
The NASDAQ-100 Index, launched in 1985, reflects NASDAQ's largest non- financial companies across major industry groups. Index securities are ranked by market value and evaluated annually to determine which securities will be included. The NASDAQ-100 Index Tracking Stock represents ownership in the NASDAQ-100 Trust. The Trust holds a portfolio of equity securities that comprise the NASDAQ-100 Index and aims to provide investment results that generally correspond with the NASDAQ-100 Index performance.
