WORCESTER, Mass. and SAN DIEGO, Calif., Dec. 10 /PRNewswire-
FirstCall/ -- Paid, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: PAYD) , a cutting-edge developer of celebrity web sites and services and ecommerce software, today announced that its Celebrity Services division is an official sponsor of "Sports Illustrated Presents Flutie Bowl 2004," an annual bowling-for-charity event championed by San Diego Chargers' star quarterback Doug Flutie. The event benefits the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism, which educates, supports, and financially assists families coping with childhood autism.
On Monday, December 13, from 6:00 to 11:00 p.m., local sports celebrities and diverse corporate sponsors, including Sports Illustrated, DoubleTree Golf Resort, Reebok, Coca-Cola, San Diego Chargers, Autism Tree Project, Sign Diego, ResorTime.com, and San Diego Country Credit Union, will come together at San Diego's popular Sunset Bowl to raise funds to fight autism. Sixteen lanes of sponsor teams will bowl for prizes, and each team will have a chance to bowl two exhilarating rounds with a member of the San Diego Chargers.
"As a lane sponsor for Flutie Bowl 2004, Paid's Celebrity Services has a unique opportunity to actively support a very worthy cause-the fight against childhood autism-while taking a big step forward to enhance its reputation and grow its client base," said Kristen Kuliga, VP of Paid Inc. Celebrity Services and Doug Flutie's NFL player agent. "As a cutting-edge web site designer for sports celebrities, including Doug Flutie, Celebrity Services can leverage its presence at Flutie Bowl to introduce its web site design capabilities to more than 20 San Diego Chargers players who can benefit from our specialized expertise."
Paid Inc., a leader in online auction management, will help manage Flutie Bowl's live and silent auction, which features autographed sports memorabilia and golf trips that all event attendees can bid on, with proceeds benefiting the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism. The evening will also include a performance by Flutie's own band, "The Flutie Brothers Band," which features Doug Flutie on drums and was voted by fans as the best performance on ABC Monday Night Football's special feature "Monday Night at the Mic." All event participants will be treated to a VIP Party.
"We're pleased to have Paid Inc. Celebrity Services onboard this year as one of Flutie Bowl's generous sponsors," said Doug Flutie, who has raised more than $5 million for autism since 1998 in honor of his son, Doug Jr., who suffers from autism. "With the ongoing support of companies like Paid Inc., we're hoping to raise more awareness and more dollars for autism than ever before. Together, we can make a positive difference in the lives of autistic children and their families."
Spectator tickets for "Sports Illustrated Presents Flutie Bowl 2004" are available to the public for $100 each. The first 20 people who purchase spectator tickets will be grouped into teams of five and compete against corporate teams for prizes. Contact the Foundation at 1-866-3AUTISM for tickets.
