Global Concerns Over Compliance and Usage Control Spur Demand for Procera Networks' New OptimIP Intelligent Network Appliances

Procera Networks Selects New Channel Partners to Address Worldwide Demand

CAMPBELL, Calif., Dec. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Procera(R) Networks, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: PRNW) , a pioneering developer of optimized network security and compliance systems, announced the formation of a worldwide channel of VARs and regional distributors in North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and Latin America to address global demand for the company's new OptimIP(TM) intelligent network appliances.

"Since the recent introduction of our new enterprise-class OptimIP 12012 integrated appliance system, we have been extremely pleased by the enthusiastic response from channel partners worldwide," said Gary J. Johnson, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Procera Networks. "During the past six weeks alone, more than 40 highly qualified network VARs and distributors have requested membership in our Network Executive Alliance channel program. Their customers are universally scrambling to comply with the explosion in government regulatory requirements, ensure their mission-critical applications perform as intended, and control the growing security epidemic caused by insider abuse. We expect that number will increase significantly within the next 30 days as we continue to identify and qualify channel partners with the necessary depth and breadth to deliver network-based compliance and usage control solutions."

Procera's new channel partners become charter members of Procera's Network Executive Alliance, which will provide Procera with rapid access to localized sales, technical and marketing resources to grow and develop the market for Procera's integrated compliance, usage control and network optimization systems.

"Virtually all of our customers are now driven by concerns over how to best operate their internal networks to ensure regulatory compliance by enforcing strict usage control policies and retaining critical data," said Tim Burke, President and CEO of Quest, a value-added reseller and technology management firm headquartered in Sacramento, California. "For example, a casino recently chose Procera's OptimIP appliance family because it enables them to comply with the regulatory requirements of the California Gaming Commission to lock down network access to computer systems located within its high-security vault. Procera's OptimIP appliances are the only systems that optimize the performance of mission-critical applications while ensuring beyond the shadow of a doubt that computers cannot be used to leak sensitive financial data."

Initially, Procera will authorize select VARs and integrators in the U.S. and Canada as well as distributors and VARs throughout Europe (France, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the Nordic region), Asia- Pacific (Japan and China), and Latin America.

"Solution providers are coming to Procera in search of integrated solutions that enable their customers to enforce compliance and usage control on their internal networks, but that do not require long lead-time sales involving multiple networking and security systems," continued Johnson. "These providers are reporting exceptionally robust demand for both our new enterprise-class OptimIP 12012 and our entry-level OptimIP 2402 for their ability to ensure compliance, enforce usage control and optimize application performance in a single appliance-class system."

Procera targets its OptimIP intelligent network appliances as the most cost-effective solution for the compliance, usage control and performance optimization requirements of diverse segments such as banking, gaming, hospitality, multi-tenant residential and business complexes, K-12 schools and universities.

"In our marketplace, we are seeing strong demand for network-based systems that enable compliance with European Union Directives and other government regulations. These systems must work with our customers' existing equipment and network topologies," said Hans Sving, director of Sving Systems, the new Network Executive Alliance distributor partner in the Nordic region. "We are very pleased to work with Procera as a member of the Network Executive Alliance to address the immediate demand for integrated solutions that enable compliance and pinpoint resource control without disrupting existing operations."
