Gay.com Ranked Number One in Average Time Spent Per Visitor Among Web Sites for Two Consecutive Months, According to Nielsen//NetRatings

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Gay.com, a Website property owned by PlanetOut Inc, which serves the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) community globally, ranked number one for average time spent per visitor in September and October 2004, according to Nielsen//NetRatings' Loyalty Stickiness Report for at-home visitors in the U.S.

In September 2004, visitors to Gay.com spent an average of five hours and fifty-two minutes connected to the site per month. In October 2004, the average time spent online by visitors to Gay.com was five hours and fifty-six minutes, from home, for the month. These online visitation times are superior to time spent on such popular destinations as Google, eBay, Yahoo! and MSN.

According to Nielsen//NetRatings @Plan Winter 2004/2005 Release, the leading target-marketing platform for Internet media planning, buying and selling, Gay.com is number one among single men with a household income of $100,000 per year or more.

In addition to leading the overall index for affluent male customers with a score of 661, Gay.com is also number one in the following areas, according to @Plan:

the last three months; index 682
-- Number one site for reaching single men who are intent on buying a new
home in the next twelve months; index 736
-- Number one site for reaching single men who own a luxury car; index 486



An @Plan index of 100 means that a marketer is just as likely as any other to reach the target market; therefore, an index of 661 means that the marketer is over six times as likely to reach the demographic.
