CTA/Managed Futures Funds Lead the Way in November

NEW YORK, Dec. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Hedge funds were up an average of 3.08% in November, according to the HedgeFund.net-PerTrac Universes. The top 25% of hedge funds gained an average of 4.30%, while the bottom 25% of hedge funds were up an average of 0.94% for the month. CTA/Managed Futures funds, the month's top performing strategy, were up an average of 5.18% in November. By comparison, the S&P 500 was up 3.86% during the month.

Through November, the year-to-date average gain for hedge funds was 8.60%. The top 25% of hedge funds gained 10.58% for the year-to-date, while the bottom 25% was up 1.89% over the same period. The S&P 500 is up 5.57% since the beginning of 2004.

Hedge funds included in these calculations were up 1.22% on average in October. The top 25% of hedge funds gained an average of 1.49% in October, while the bottom 25% was up an average 0.03% during the same period.
