New Contraception Resource Center & Updated Choosing a Birth Control Method On-line Tool

WASHINGTON, Dec. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- The Association of Reproductive Health Professionals (ARHP), an education association representing leading health care providers, researchers, and educators in the field, announces two online contraception resources: the new Contraception Resource Center and the updated Choosing a Birth Control Method online tool.

The Contraception Resource Center (http://www.arhp.org/contraceptionresources) is a comprehensive source for information on contraception for health care providers and their patients. Choosing a Birth Control Method (http://www.arhp.org/choosing) is an interactive Web tool designed to help patients choose which birth control method is best for them. By asking a series of questions about their lifestyle, health, and preferences, the tool lists specific birth control options that may be appropriate for the user.

"We first launched the Choosing tool in 1996 and it has been used by hundreds of thousands of individuals," says Wayne Shields, ARHP President and CEO. "This updated version is the most powerful and comprehensive ever, and the new Resource Center will help women and their health care providers make sense of the wide array of contraceptive choices."

To view the new Contraception Resource Center on line, go to: http://www.arhp.org/contraceptionresources.

To use the updated Choosing Tool, go to: http://www.arhp.org/choosing.

The Contraception Resource Center and updated Choosing a Birth Control Method tool were made possible by an unrestricted educational grant from FEI Women's Health.

ARHP is a multidisciplinary association composed of professionals who provide reproductive health services or education, conduct reproductive health research, or influence reproductive health policy. ARHP, founded in 1963, has a mission to educate health care professionals, public policy makers, and the public. The organization fosters research and advocacy to promote reproductive health.
