Award-Winning Prescription: AltiGen Honored With League of American Communications Professionals Award for Customer-Focused Article
FREMONT, Calif., Dec. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The spotlight is shining on AltiGen(R) Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ:ATGN) and its customer Consultants in Gastroenterology (CIG) after AltiGen was honored with a League of American Communications Professionals 2004 Spotlight Award for a customer case study feature. AltiGen Communications, a leading manufacturer of VoIP telephone systems and VoIP call center solutions, was recognized for the customer-focused case study, "VoIP Prescription Cures Ailment," which highlighted CIG's technology transition from using outdated and isolated telephony systems to a seamless, multi-location AltiGen Communications solution.
Award-Winning Case Study Highlights
Consultants in Gastroenterology was looking for a VoIP-based system to replace eight different phone systems and more than 100 individual phone numbers across seven office locations. CIG's goal -- a unified, scalable phone system that could be maintained in-house -- became reality with AltiGen's AltiServ Office III system, AltiView employee communications productivity software and AltiServ Contact Center products. The result: CIG now has one main phone number, from which all communications emanate, serving 125 staff members and handling the more than 1,000 calls that stream into the organization's call center each day.
"We used to spend between $2,000 and $3,000 a year in maintenance costs with our old system," said David Schulman, manager of IT for CIG. "That has been eliminated since we implemented AltiGen's system, as we now do maintenance and changes ourselves. We used to get patient complaints about not being able to reach someone live. Not anymore."
The AltiGen and Consultants in Gastroenterology case study article-written by AltiGen's PR firm, Eastwick Communications -- was published in the July 2004 issue of Communications News. "VoIP Prescription Cures Ailment" received LACP Spotlight Awards Honors in the Print, Video and Web PR Competition and was recognized for "narrative content quality," "message relevance" and "creativity."
According to the League of American Communications Professionals LLC (LACP), an organization dedicated to supporting and recognizing excellence in the practice of professional communications, the 2004 Spotlight Awards Print, Video & Web PR Competition drew more than 850 entries and "competition was exceptionally tough." Entries were judged by communications professionals affiliated with LACP and award results are based on the judging of submissions within peer-level competition classes.
