International Institute for Learning Helping Habitat for Humanity International Manage Projects Worldwide
AMERICUS, Ga., Dec. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Habitat for Humanity International, a housing ministry dedicated to eliminating homelessness and substandard housing around the world, today announced that International Institute for Learning, Inc. (IIL), a global leader in project, program and portfolio management solutions, made a substantial donation toward the purchase of its Unified Project Management(R) Methodology (UPMM(TM)) solution. The technology will enable HFHI to better manage critical home-building projects in the 100 countries where it works.
"Without the gift, Habitat would not have been able to afford the vital software that will greatly improve the way Habitat manages projects around the world," says Kirby Waggoner, Habitat for Humanity International liaison for project management director. "The software will be tailored to suit the needs of Habitat for Humanity International and provides templates, examples and guidance for everyone from the entry-level project manager to the experienced senior project manager."
UPMM(TM) is an industry-tested Intranet solution that empowers effective project management and enables project management capabilities to excel within an organization. UPMM(TM) enables organizations to achieve organizational project management maturity by delivering a continuous stream of successful projects. It is applicable to projects in an array of industries and can be customized to meet an organization's specific needs and requirements. UPMM(TM) is highly scalable and its Web interface makes it simple for new and experienced Project Managers to use.
"IIL is an avid supporter of Habitat for Humanity's mission of eradicating substandard and overcrowded housing and turning home ownership from a dream to a reality for so many deserving families," said E. LaVerne Johnson, IIL president and CEO. "By utilizing our project management solution it is our hope that HFHI and its volunteers can build new and safe homes in partnership with low-income families quicker and more efficiently than ever before. We are thrilled to support Habitat for Humanity and look forward to an ongoing and successful partnership."
The project management software was piloted this summer and will soon be available to Habitat staff members worldwide.
