Ann Arbor IT Zone Kicks Off the New Year With the Creativity Forum, LeadersConnect Breakfast and a Hi-Tech Tuesday

ANN ARBOR, Mich., Dec. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- The Ann Arbor IT Zone kicks off January 2005 with programs including the Creativity Forum, "The Creative Universe," a LeadersConnect Breakfast, "Innovations in Business Education," and a Hi-Tech Tuesday, "Implementing Effective (and legal) E-mail Marketing Campaigns."

The Creativity Forum is a pack-your-own brown bag lunch event that explores the mind's power to create. Moderated by Jan Nichols, of Market Arts, the program combines audience participation, fun games and conversation with guests who have something to say about the power, the process and the payoff of thinking creatively. The Creativity Forum takes place the first Friday of every month during lunch, from noon till 1:30 p.m. at the IT Zone Launch Pad, 330 East Liberty Street in downtown Ann Arbor. Free to members of the IT Zone, the cost is $5 for nonmembers. The January 2005 Creativity Forum is:

Jan. 7 - "The Creative Universe." Astrophysicist Fred C. Adams will explore the creative universe and take attendees on a journey through time and space. Dr. Adams, professor in the department of physics at the Univ. of Michigan, will take a look at how life emerged in the universe. He is co- author, with Greg Laughlin, of The Five Ages of the Universe and author of Origins of Existence. In addition, Adams will discuss everything from gravity to galaxies.

Robert Pasick's LeadersConnect Breakfast Series, co-sponsored by the Ann Arbor IT Zone, Inner Circle Media, Nicola Books, Pfizer and Zingerman's, is designed to bring together business leaders, consultants and educators in a dynamic learning forum. Registration starts at 7:15 a.m. with the program from 7:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the IT Zone Launch Pad. The cost for pre- registration is $15 for members and $25 for non-members or $30 at the door and includes a Zingerman's continental breakfast. The January 2005 LeadersConnect program is:

Jan. 11 - "Innovations in Business Education." Robert J. Dolan, dean of the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the Univ. of Michigan, will discuss business education and the innovations that have occurred -- distinguishing the school as a world class institution for education. In addition to his position, Dolan is a professor of marketing and was the Edward W. Carter Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School. His major research interests are product policy and pricing. Dolan is author and co-author of eight books and numerous case studies.

Hi-Tech Tuesday programs open at 5 p.m. with networking and presentations from 5:30 p.m. through 7 p.m. Free to members of the Ann Arbor IT Zone, Hi- Tech Tuesdays cost $25 for non-members and $5 for students. All Hi-Tech Tuesday programs are located at the Ann Arbor IT Zone Launch Pad. The January 2005 Hi-Tech Tuesday program is:

Jan. 18 - "Implementing Effective (and legal) E-mail Marketing Campaigns." Panelists John Mozena, co-founder and vice president of Coalition Against Unsolicited Commercial E-mail; Jeff Stanislow, CEO of Motor City Interactive; Robb Lippitt, COO and general counsel of ePrize; and Matthew Day, senior vice president and director of client services at Beyond Interactive; will give attendees first-hand experience in the eMarketing industry and provide knowledge of current industry issues and best practices for commercial email. The panelists will demonstrate how to deliver program results while maintaining a positive customer relationship. They will also discuss changes in eMarketing due to the Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing (CAN-SPAM) Act.
