Pioneering Film Producer Changes Name After Fame

The recent in-flight BWIA magazine hailed India's Harbance (Mickey) Kumar
as the pioneer and the most successful moviemaker in the West Indies.
Professor Keith Q. Warner, of George Mason University, Virginia USA in his
book, "On Location", also applauded the path blazing achievements of Mickey.



Some people chase fame and some chase fame away. Yet this unique
individual has changed his name to Mickey Nivelli, after achieving fame. The
maker of the first and most successful West Indian movies, The Right and The
Wrong, The Caribbean Fox, Girl from India, Messing Around, Jealous, and Man
from Africa, was asked by surprised observers as to why he sacrificed such
hard-won fame. Mickey replied: "A divine intervention made me do it. An
innocent German/Jewish child, who was murdered by the Nazis in concentration
camps, happened to be born on the same date, year and month as me. His
mother, who lived only to find someone to carry forth the Nivelli name, died
ten years ago at the age of 89. This real life saga of love, devotion, divine
designs and my commitment to a higher calling made me change my life".

There is grass-root movement in the West Indies to have Mickey's
contribution to its culture officially recognised. They want similar honours
and status bestowed upon Mickey, as the late, great Dada Sahib Phalke,
India's pioneer moviemaker, received from his government.



"I will help and guide anyone who wants to move forward the West Indian
movie industry," Mickey states. "I have a script and a production plan for
another path blazing West Indian movie titled Rainbow Raani.



Mickey Nivelli is a close associate of South Africa's top most
moviemaker, Mr. Anant Singh.
