eOn Communications Announces Award of Defense Switched Network (DSN) Certification

eQueue System Meets U.S. Department of Defense Security, Reliability and Feature Requirements

ATLANTA, Nov. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- eOn Communications Corporation(TM) (NASDAQ:EONC), a leading provider of unified voice, e-mail and Web-based communications solutions, today announced that the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) has completed interoperability and security certification testing of eOn's eQueue Multi-Media Contact Center Solution. With this certification, the eQueue is now approved for connection to the DOD's Defense Switched Network (DSN). The DSN is the primary means of voice communications between DOD bases, agencies and components.

"We are very excited to have received this prestigious approval. eOn Communications is now one of only a few vendors who are now permitted, under public law enacted by Congress, to provide ACD and PBX solutions to the DOD as well as other civilian departments and agencies," said Jack Dienno, eOn's Vice President of Strategic Accounts. "This certification will allow eOn to expand services presently provided to thousands of U.S. Federal Government installations around the world."

The eQueue system was certified for PBX1 applications, which represents the most stringent set of PBX operational requirements set forth by the DOD for the DSN. The associated certification testing includes a comprehensive vulnerability assessment, employing denial of service tests, password protection fault analysis and virus detection ability. Additionally, the ability to support Multilevel Precedence and Preemption (MLPP) was tested. MLPP allows key personnel to override calls on the DSN in times of emergency so that the most critical calls receive priority on the network.

"This certification is a testament to the ability of the eQueue to provide the reliability and security features necessary for the nation's most critical communications needs," said Mitch Gilstrap, eOn's Chief Operating Officer.
