DoubleClick Leverages Mercury to Optimize Service Level Agreements

DoubleClick Leverages Mercury to Optimize Service Level Agreements

DoubleClick Quality of Service Group Migrates SLA Technology and Processes to Mercury

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Nov. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Today, Mercury Interactive Corporation (NASDAQ:MERQ), the global leader in business technology optimization (BTO), announced that DoubleClick Inc. (NASDAQ:DCLK), a leading provider of tools for advertisers, direct marketers and Web publishers, has implemented Mercury application management offerings to help achieve a consistent high-quality of service for both internal and external customers.

"DoubleClick handles about three billion transactions a day, which requires a lot of monitoring to ensure our systems are executing at service levels expected by our customers," said Mark Halstead, manager, Quality of Service, DoubleClick. "We attempted to internally address the measurement and accuracy challenges for business availability, but found that our in-house application and internal processes were not keeping up with our business growth. Mercury SiteScope(R) and Mercury Business Availability Center(TM) provided DoubleClick with the centralized management we needed to monitor and measure across our highly decentralized operational environment."

DoubleClick, which had previously relied on an in-house solution, applied Mercury Business Availability Center to centralize data collection and reporting for its data servers located around the world. With Mercury Business Availability Center, the Quality of Service group can immediately see how the data center in one location is doing compared to the data center in a completely different location - all from a single dashboard. This provides greater visibility into and control over operations, which helps optimize performance and simplify complexity for customers.

With Mercury, DoubleClick can manage the whole range of areas its customers might access, helping to ensure all of the service components are operating properly, allowing problems to be spotted quickly before they affect customers and reducing mean time to identification (MTTI) which improves service levels, minimizes application downtime and lowers costs.
