KBAD Receives High Rankings in the Nielsen Book

KBAD Receives High Rankings in the Nielsen Book

KBAD 94.5 FM Wins Top Spot In Several Demographics

SIOUX FALLS, S.D., Aug. 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Nielsen Audio, the definitive source for comprehensive radio metrics and insights, has just released their Spring 2016 ratings book and KBAD 94.5 FM received several high rankings in key demographics for their market.

"It has been several years since the Sioux Falls market has been ranked by Nielsen, and when KBAD 94.5 began airing on Thanksgiving Day 2015, we knew there was something unique and KBAD would be a game changer for the market," said Chuck Brennan, CEO of KBAD. "There has been quite a bit of anticipation waiting for the ratings to see how KBAD stacked up against the competition."

Highlights from the Nielsen ratings include:

-- KBAD is the most listened-to rock station in the Sioux Falls market, all
day long and during the weekend.
-- Men spend twice as much time listening to KBAD than the other two Sioux
Falls rock stations combined.
-- Women spend more time listening to KBAD than any other rock station in
the Sioux Falls market.
-- 33% of KBAD listeners listen at work, which is more than the market's
other two rock stations combined.
-- Listeners spend more time listening to KBAD than any other station in
the market.
"We all knew KBAD was doing extremely well from the massive response we have had from our listeners and advertisers. However, we had no idea how dominant we were in so many areas of the radio market," said Chuck Brennan, CEO of KBAD 94.5.

"KBAD is less than 9 months old and we are proud to see that Chuck's vision is reality," said Rob Feller, KBAD's general manager.

"We all wanted to go back to the days of kick ass radio with real jocks on air 24/7, play the best rock music, host real promotions and contests, and of course, have the best DJs available," said Feller.

KBAD's ability to be successful in making this dream a reality has been simple. "KBAD 94.5 is not corporate radio," said Feller. "We offer a massive play list, phenomenal on-air talent, and the listeners keep coming back for more! In fact, KBAD had the highest time spent listening of any FM station in the market."

"With more than 20 years of being on-air in this market I have never been more proud or happy to be with a radio station. I have found my home with KBAD 94.5," said Crash, host of the morning show 'The Morning Crash'.

With the extreme popularity of KBAD 94.5, Feller said one of the wildest things they have seen happen is the creation of 'The Morning Crash' being aired live each morning on KTTW FOX TV. Not only is this the first time a morning show of this nature been televised, but also it is the only rock and roll morning show being televised on broadcast TV in the nation!

"With popularity of 'The Morning Crash' we quickly saw that we had to increase our program length from three to four hours. It was at that moment we all knew, this was going to be bigger and better than we had initially imagined. We are proud to be included as part of the success of KBAD 94.5," said Ed Hoffman, general manager of KTTW in Sioux Falls.

One thing is for sure, with the release of the Nielsen ratings, KBAD is more determined than ever to give listeners more of what they love... real rock radio, 24/7.
