Washington, DC Premiere Of The HBO Film "ALL THE WAY" At The National Archives May 16 With Special Guests Bryan Cranston, Anthony Mackie, Jay Roach And Robert Schenkkan

WHAT: Following its critically acclaimed, award-winning
Broadway run, ALL THE WAY, a riveting behind-the-
scenes look at President Lyndon B. Johnson's tumultuous
first year in office in the wake of President Kennedy's
assassination, comes to HBO on Saturday, May 21 (8pm).
Bryan Cranston (four-time Emmy(R) winner for "Breaking
Bad") reprises his Tony Award-winning role for the HBO
Films presentation, which is directed by Jay Roach
("Trumbo"; Emmy(R) winner for HBO's "Game Change" and
"Recount") from a screenplay by Robert Schenkkan
(Pulitzer Prize winner for "The Kentucky Cycle"; two-
time Emmy(R) nominee and Writers Guild Award winner for
HBO's "The Pacific"), who has adapted his Tony Award-
winning play of the same name. Co-starring with
Cranston are Anthony Mackie (Martin Luther King, Jr.)
Melissa Leo (Lady Bird Johnson), Bradley Whitford
(Hubert Humphry), and Frank Langella (Senator Richard
Russell).

The HBO Films presentation follows LBJ during his early
administration, as he stakes his presidency on what
would be an historic, unprecedented Civil Rights Act.
Johnson finds himself caught between the moral
imperative of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the
expectations of the southern Democratic Party leaders
who brought Johnson to power. As King battles to press
Johnson while controlling more radical elements of the
Civil Rights movement, Johnson navigates the bill
through Congress, winning a landslide victory against
Barry Goldwater, but causing the South to defect from
the Democratic Party.
