CINEMILLS MEDIA Announces Additional Cast For 'Cowgirl's Story'

BURBANK, Calif., May 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- CINEMILLS MEDIA & ARMSTRONG MOVING PICTURES today announced the addition of three new cast members for the lineup of talent in the motion picture, Cowgirl's Story, currently in production.

Joining the already announced Bailee Madison (Good Witch) as Dusty Rhodes, and legendary Country singer/actor, Pat Boone as Grandpa, Dancing with Mom's star Chloe Lukasiak has signed on to play Savanah. In addition, rising star Aidan Alexander is onboard to play Trevor.

Cowgirl's Story, created and produced by Writer/Director Timothy Armstrong (Cowgirls N' Angels), is produced with Bailee Madison. For the second time, the duo hooked up with Producers, Carlos and Marcos De Mattos (One Night with the King), to bring yet another character-driven family project to audiences world-wide.

About COWGIRL'S STORY

Inspired by the classic novel Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, Cowgirl's Story chronicles the challenges and struggles of high school girls whose parents are away fighting in Afghanistan.

Dusty Rhodes is new at Jefferson High, and she sticks out like a... well, a cowgirl. Dusty is a real cowgirl from Texas. Her parents are in the U.S. Army: her mother a helicopter pilot and her father a Special Forces Army Ranger. At first, Dusty is an outcast, but eventually she makes friends with a group that includes Savanah, a girl whose father was killed while fighting in Iraq three years earlier. Even though Savanah is kind of Goth and Dusty is all cowgirl they have a special connection and they bond. Dusty gets the school to agree to an Equestrian Drill Team and she enlists her new city slicker friends to join the team. As Dusty and the team practice, Dusty deals with the fears that come with her mother fighting in Afghanistan. And halfway through the story, when she is at the prom with a boy she likes, Trevor, she learns that her father is deploying that night. She and Trevor must hurry home to see him off. With both of Dusty's parents gone, Dusty must live with one of the teachers at her school, the irritating, cat-loving Mrs. Preston. Dusty's faith is tested as she copes with her parents being in harm's way, and she questions God when her horse becomes seriously ill. Mrs. Preston warms up and tells Dusty that there is a rhyme and reason for everything that happens and she needs to have faith. Dusty's father is seriously injured and returns home missing a leg. He urges that Dusty and the drill team perform at the upcoming rodeo even though they were planning not to. Dusty agrees and the team puts on a special benefit for her mother and all the other soldiers still fighting.

The performance is beautiful. And when the chaplain reads the 23(rd) Psalm there is not a dry eye in the arena. Finally, the announcer tells Dusty and her father that he has some news about Dusty's mom, but rather than him telling them, she'd like to tell them herself. Dusty's eyes light up - could her mom really be at the rodeo?
