The Parade Company Gears Up For The Ford Fireworks In Detroit -- One Of America's Most Spectacular Fireworks Displays On Monday, June 22
DETROIT, June 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Ford Fireworks (#fordfireworks) will light up the sky over the Detroit River in downtown Detroit on Monday, June 22 at 10:06 p.m. In its 57(th) year and recognized as one of the world's largest and most magnificent fireworks displays in the country, the Ford Fireworks produced by The Parade Company is a Detroit tradition, bringing hundreds of thousands of spectators from across the region to attend and experience one of the city's most celebrated summer events.
The Parade Company, a non-profit organization, raises the funds necessary to make this event possible and selects the musical arrangement to which Zambelli Fireworks stages more than 10,000 pyrotechnic effects which will be visible for miles along the Detroit River. Themed "Colors of Love," the show will be choreographed again this year by the world-renowned Patrick Brault who has years of experience designing pyrotechnic displays including the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
This year's Ford Fireworks will feature:
-- 10,000 pyrotechnic effects which will be visible for miles along the
Detroit River
-- The "Colors of Love" theme will come alive with more bi-chromatic
fireworks in the show
-- A strong use of noise and salute shells, which includes dragon eggs,
whistles and screamers
-- Intense color and more significant separation of layers so the shells
used will be more distinct
"This is a magical night in Detroit and we are proud to continue this 57-year tradition of bringing this world-class event to our city," said Tony Michaels, president & CEO, The Parade Company. "We are incredibly grateful for the continued support of Ford Motor Company and our many devoted supporters who help us to make this incredible display bigger and better each year."
One of The Parade Company's largest and most popular fundraisers of the year is The Ford Fireworks Rooftop Party presented by Ford Motor Company. Guests attending this sold out event will experience live music by Detroit's own Fifty Amp Fuse, food by Andiamo, games, giveaways and more for adults and kids alike.
Ford will also be hosting Focus on Freedom at the Ford Fireworks for the second year. Working with the Yankee Air Museum, the event honors more than 250 active and retired military veterans and their families with a reception and up-close view of this year's fireworks.
The Ford Fireworks can be viewed on WDIV-Local 4's live broadcast beginning at 8 p.m. News/Talk 760 WJR will do a special radio simulcast throughout the event and provide up-to-the-minute traffic and weather information throughout the day.
