"As part of our international growth strategy, we are committed in strengthening our position as the premier motorsports website in the world by adding high-end programming to our growing video platform," said Scott Sebastian, vice president of public relations and marketing, Motorsport.com.

"Because of our global reach, no other motorsports digital platform can offer the amount of content and audience viewership as Motorsport.com. The addition of RaceFansTV will further enrich Motorsport.com's audience experience by delivering compelling video to both mobile and online systems."

The acquisition leverages Motorsport.com's new digital platform - Motorsport.tv - which will be launched in October, in creating and housing the largest library of motorsports video content in the world.

The addition of Motorsport.tv to the company's portfolio leverages the strategic vision of building the world's largest video and live-streaming network in the world, including race series and individual team news channels.

"Motorsport.tv is the natural evolution of the Motorsport.com international platform and the best answer to the craving need for video content about racing and automotive," said Eric Gilbert, vice president of operations, Motorsport.com. "TV habits have shifted dramatically in the past five years: race fans have unplugged the cable and want to see racing video content when they want it, where they want it.

"On the content site, Motorsport.tv will offer the largest video library as well as live stream and on-demand race events. On the technology side, Motorsport.tv will be the ultimate tool for viewing video content and will have unique features that will greatly enhance the user experience, whether with the mobile app or on the web," Gilbert added.

"We will expand Motorsport.tv to every language in which Motorsport.com and Motor1.com are positioned. Motorsport.tv will be the multi-language Netflix for racing and automotive content."

The transaction will combine Motorsport.com's expanding premium desktop and mobile platforms' inventory that includes the recent acquisitions of exclusive North American territorial rights to the popular Formula One online video program "Inside Grand Prix" and the World Endurance Championship's "Inside WEC" show.

"As our international footprint continues to expand with multi-language properties worldwide, it is increasingly important to provide our global readership increased engagement opportunities," Sebastian added. "Providing our readership this video programming helps maintain the legacy of such legendary drivers like Mario Andretti, Emerson Fittipaldi, Nelson Piquet, Ayrton Senna, A.J. Foyt, Sir Jackie Stewart and others for new generations of race fans."

One of the fastest growing digital platforms in the world, Motorsport.com is a technically advanced digital distribution platform, which provides worldwide, multimedia motorsports coverage resulting in over 180 countries this year.

RaceFansTV currently houses over 1,000 TV episodes and thousands of hours of motorsport racing content making it the ultimate destination for motorsports fans of all types to be entertained in an engaging, interactive way.
