Meningitis and Country Music Come Together Spreading Awareness to Save Lives

The founder of the organization, Frankie Milley, lost her only child, Ryan, at age 18, to Meningococcal Meningitis, a vaccine preventable disease. This is when she met Texas born country artist, Curtis Braly. "We were blessed to have Curtis sing at the graveside for Ryan. Never had I heard Amazing Grace sung so beautiful. The whole world seem to stop. Since then Curtis has worked with Angels to help create awareness," said Milley.
About a year ago Milley had the idea to tell the stories and devastations of the disease through music. She wanted as many of the Angels as possible to be a part of this amazing project.
The first person she called on was Braly. He graciously, without hesitation, joined Milley and Angel Mom Theresa Menard who had lost her daughter, Jane, on a trip to Nashville.
Braly introduced the two moms to Nashville song writers Derrick Hampton and Mary Welch Frances. The result is a beautiful song and testimony to life.
Performing with Braly are Angel survivors, Leslie Meigs, who received a kidney transplant, Ethan Boone and Jeremiah Mitchell who lost all four limbs and part of their faces, Johnny D'Antona who lost his legs and some fingers, Riley Bax who lost partial hearing and Carye Wynn who fought for her life enduring kidney failure for months. All this was vaccine preventable. Also in the video are Angel family members Jonathan Dillard and Ryder Bax.
Braly is making a splash in country music. Just in the past month he has become a member of the Country Music Association and has teamed up with Nashville based award winning public relations firm, PLA Media. The Studio Gold Nashville recording artist has recently released his single, 'Living on Sunshine' off his EP, All About The Ride. On the heels of his release, he will be performing in Music City during CMA Music Festival during June. There is no slowing down for this Texan who has toured all over the southwest entertaining thousands of fans with his energetic performances. Among numerous other appearances, he will be performing a special homecoming concert at the Bayou Music Center with special guest appearance by Grammy nominated and Billboard charted recording artist, Ty Herndon in August.
Braly said, "When Frankie contacted me to help with this project, I put it at the top of my priority list. Nothing is more important than providing the public with awareness that could save lives."
Milley concluded, "We have to thank so many for helping make this beautiful project happen. Along with those above we extend our love and thanks to the Angel families featured in the video who shared videos, photos, stories and their love with us."
