The new season opens with "Low-Cost Advantage," a special on exchanged traded funds (ETFs). WealthTrack Anchor and Executive Producer Consuelo Mack explores why investors are abandoning traditional, actively managed mutual funds in favor of "passive" index funds, particularly ETFs, with experts Matthew Hougan, CEO of ETF.com, a leading ETF research firm, and Matthew Peron, head of global equity at giant wealth management firm Northern Trust. They explain when it is better to invest in ETFs versus traditional mutual funds and how to tell the difference between good and bad ETFs so viewers can make the best investment decisions.
"The opportunity to put together a portfolio of diversified low-cost ETFs has never been better. But not all ETFs are created equal and active managers can still be a better choice in certain markets and conditions. As we have been doing for the last 10 years on WealthTrack, we want to help our viewers know the difference so they can compound their money over the long-term," said Mack.
WealthTrack's 10(th) anniversary season will feature new topics such as automatic or robo-investing with legendary "Financial Thought Leader" Burton Malkiel (A Random Walk Down Wall Street), and why less is more when it comes to successful multi-year investment results. The series will continue to provide trustworthy, understandable advice from the best minds in the business world, including rare and exclusive interviews with acknowledged "Great Investors" and "Financial Thought Leaders."
Upcoming guests include award-winning bond manager Ken Leech of Western Asset Management and renowned deep value investor Steven Romick of FPA Crescent Fund.
"Financial security is right up there with physical and emotional health in determining one's overall sense of well-being. Thanks to WLIW21 and public television, WealthTrack has been able to devote 10 years to helping individuals build financial security to last a lifetime," said Mack.
An award-winning, veteran business journalist with an extensive rolodex, Mack handpicks each guest based on their professional credentials, performance and integrity to help viewers tackle economic, market and political changes, while building and protecting their wealth. USA Today observed, "Consuelo Mack's Charlie Rose-esque interview style -- quietly intelligent, thoughtful and aimed at a well-informed audience -- suits her half-hour show." Money magazine named WealthTrack "The Best Money on TV."
