Sound Off! America's Drill Instructor Gears up for New Outdoor Channel TV Series - "GunnyTime with R. Lee Ermey"
DENVER, April 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
WHO: He's an 11-year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He's starred in more than 60 feature
films. And he's a weapons enthusiast. He's R. Lee Ermey - a.k.a. The Gunny - and he's
leading the charge in a captivating Outdoor Channel TV series called: GunnyTime with R.
Lee Ermey.
Best known for his stellar performances in films like Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket
for which he received a Golden Globe Best Supporting Actor nomination for his role as
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman, Ermey has also starred in critically acclaimed TV series on HBO,
TNT, Showtime and History Channel. In addition to his storied film, broadcast and Marine
Corps career, Ermey's impressive resume also boasts an 11-year reign as a GLOCK
spokesman; has brand engagements with SOG Specialty Knives & Tools, Victory Motorcycles,
Rugged Ridge and Tru-Spec Apparel; and has appeared in campaigns for companies ranging
from DICK'S Sporting Goods to GEICO. He also works with the Young Marines Youth
Organization and makes numerous personal appearances on behalf of the military and law
enforcement.
WHAT: The all-new, immersive half-hour series produced by Rogin Entertainment is centered on
weapons and weapons technology - past, present and future. While consulting with top-
notch experts, Ermey will get a chance to scratch his itchy trigger finger as he
demonstrates some of the most historic and high-tech pieces - from the Winchester Model
1873 rifle that is oft-termed as "The Gun that Won the West" to cutting edge night
vision, which is how America rules the night on the battlefield in modern-day warfare. He
also test-drives a variety of weaponized vehicles, such as a Tomcar TM5 with a M249
S.A.W. mounted on it. Talk about a "wild ride." Engaging stories are tied to the pieces of
weaponry and ground combat vehicles in each of the series' 11 episodes. Also on display is
Ermey's indomitable in-your-face jarhead style.
WHY: Join the one-of-a-kind R. Lee Ermey as he tries out some of the baddest and most
powerful weaponry known to mankind. Along for the ride on this epic journey of bullets and
bedlam are Grady Powell, a retired Senior Detachment Weapons Sergeant in the U.S. Army
Special Forces and TV personality; Craig "Sawman" Sawyer, a retired U.S. Navy SEAL and
owner of Tactical Insider; Theresa Vail, a Sergeant in the Kansas Army National Guard and
host of Limitless with Theresa Vail, debuting on Outdoor Channel in July of 2015; Aaron
Cohen, a former Israeli Defense Forces operator; Tori Nonaka, Team GLOCK member and back-
to-back USPSA National Champion; and Kirsten Joy Weiss, YouTube sensation and noted
performance shooter.
