Peter Sagal Joins Nerdette to Recap "Game of Thrones"

WBEZ-produced "Nerdette Recaps Game of Thrones with Peter Sagal" podcast available Mondays after GoT episodes

CHICAGO, April 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Brace yourself. Nerdette Recaps Game of Thrones with Peter Sagal is coming to WBEZ just in time for the start of season five of the popular HBO show. Spoilers are coming.

Peter Sagal of Wait, Wait ... Don't Tell Me! will join Greta Johnsen and Tricia Bobeda of Nerdette to recap, scrutinize and analyze the previous night's Game of Thrones episode. The podcast kicked off with a prologue episode April 6 and the first recap will air April 13, following the Game of Thrones season premiere. Episode recaps will continue to be posted each Monday throughout season five.

The new podcast produced by WBEZ--the home of This American Life, Serial and Wait, Wait ... Don't Tell Me!--will have the same witty, smart and incisive viewpoint that listeners have come to expect from the hosts, in addition to the unabashed enthusiasm avid fans have for a show as epic as Game of Thrones.

"Tricia and I thought we were passionate about Game of Thrones, but Peter's obsession knows no bounds. We're excited to join forces with him. We will all have far too much fun," Johnsen said.

The podcast will include analysis of each week's Game of Thrones episode, as well as pop quizzes and interviews with superfans and people who work on the HBO show. Among the ensemble cast, Peter Dinklage has won an Emmy and a Golden Globe for his performance as Tyrion Lannister.
