Technology in the classroom: Canada's digital education leaders talk opportunities and risks
Groupe Média TFO launches second edition of Les Tablettistes conference
TORONTO, Feb. 18, 2015 /CNW/ - Groupe Média TFO, Canada's leading French-language educational media company, is proud to announce the Les Tablettistes, a bilingual conference exploring the biggest issues in digital education today. The conference will tackle the controversies facing the modern classroom, namely the commercialization of e-learning and a recent TFO survey of educators which revealed that 34 per cent see a need for a national body to validate digital classroom content. Les Tablettistes is a forum to boldly discuss the benefits and implications of the increasingly tech-savvy classroom.

The second annual Les Tablettistes conference brings together 22 speakers for a day of talks about the intersection of technology and education. The roster of distinguished speakers will share differing views across the spectrums of education, technology and media. This year's speakers include Mitch Joel, digital evangelist and award-winning author; Michelle Blanc, web strategist, consultant and blogger; James Milward, Founder and Executive Producer of Secret Location; Ron Canuel, President and CEO of the Canadian Education Association and Annie Kidder, Executive Director, People for Education.
The conference aims to inspire educators and content producers to examine current classroom norms as well as equip technologists and educators with a lens to critically evaluate emerging learning technologies. In addition to the commercialization of education, other key themes of the conference will include: the state of education, standardization vs. customization, the learning economy, exploring the virtual space, the battle for bandwidth and uploading your consciousness.
