Original Content Agency, Rec Room Launches in Partnership With Big Picture Entertainment



CULVER CITY, Calif., Feb. 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Big Picture Entertainment, a leading feature film advertising agency, is teaming up with former 20(th) Century Fox marketing execs Jonathan Helfgot and Mike George to form REC ROOM, an original content agency.

The newly formed company will operate independently from Big Picture, and will focus on creating original content for marketing purposes for film studios, television networks, digital MCNs and brands looking to create cultural impact and connect to audiences beyond the limits of traditional advertising.

The new venture is a result of the incredible success Helfgot and George have had building an original content business within Big Picture for the past 3 years. The business expanded to the point where it warranted it's own identity to serve the market demand. Current clients include Sony Pictures, 20(th) Century Fox, Netflix, LinkedIn, Fox Sports, Red Bull, Google/YouTube and the New York Knicks.

Prior to the formation of Rec Room, Jonathan Helfgot spent much of the past decade as a strategic marketing executive on the studio side of the film business making stops at Walden Media and 20(th) Century Fox where he crafted and implemented campaigns for over 150 films. Mike George has directed over 100 commercials, promos and branded content pieces for film studios, TV networks and major brands. George was previously Creative Director at 20(th) Century Fox for domestic film campaigns and collaborated on cross-promotions with brands such as Coke Zero, Panasonic, McDonalds and Hershey's.

As a champion of digital innovation, REC ROOM will develop their client base and expand into even more branded content areas on multiple platforms, partnering with companies that are eager to tell engaging stories that entertain audiences while making an authentic connection to their brand.
