SMI Announces Core Operation Index

HONG KONG, Feb. 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --SMI Holdings Group Limited ('SMI' or the 'Company' and its subsidiaries, collectively the 'Group,' HKEx: 198), one of the largest movie theater operators inChina is pleased to announce a business update of the Company today.   

For the year ended 31 December 2014, the Group operated near 100 movie theaters. The core operation index has shown a significant year-on-year growth. The year-on-year growth of box office income and cinema admission are both approximately 40%. Income from Xingmeihui has significantly increased by approximately 240% year-on-year, which indicated an achievement from the diversified operation strategy of the Company.

Mr. Cheng Chi Chung, Chief Executive Officer of SMI, said, 'The Group is still optimistic towards the prospect ofChina's movie market and will continue to strive for expanding its movie theater operations, and to deeply develop its competitive channels, so as to explore diversified experience and consumer-based value-added business. The Company has planned to open further 50 movie theaters by the end of 2015. If such plan materializes, we expect the box office revenue and income from Xingmeihui will grow significantly.'
