Rentrak Cross-Platform Entertainment Rankings - Feb. 4, 2015

--Only Rentrak Precisely Measures Movies & TV Everywhere--

PORTLAND, Ore., Feb. 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Rentrak (NASDAQ: RENT), the leader in precisely measuring movies and TV everywhere, today announced the top weekly cross-platform entertainment rankings for Feb. 4, 2015.

Warner Bros.' "American Sniper" continues to draw global audiences adding another $42.95 million while crossing the $300 million mark total worldwide. In the international arena, the Clint Eastwood true-life war drama starring Bradley Cooper earned $11.1 million from 30 territories for a total of $67.3 million to-date.

In North America, "American Sniper" also dominates the Super Bowl weekend box office chart earning $30.66 million as it nears $250 million total after just 17 days in wide release (and becomes the highest grossing war film ever, unadjusted for inflation). Second place goes to the teen action adventure "Project Almanac" from Paramount followed closely in third place by the family-friendly success "Paddington" from The Weinstein Co., which has now surpassed $50 million.

In DVD and Blu-ray Disc sales, three newcomers top the chart as Universal's R-rated action film "Lucy," from visionary director Luc Besson ("Leon: The Professional," "Nikita"), makes its debut at number one. Entering the chart in second place is "The Boxtrolls," the third collaboration between LAIKA studios and Focus Features, followed in third place by Warner Bros.' horror spinoff "Annabelle."

Movies on Demand sees a changing of the guard this week as Universal's R-rated action film "Lucy" now tops the chart. The late July release was a hit in theaters earning an impressive $43.9 million in its opening weekend. Moving up the chart is the R-rated horror entry "Annabelle" from Warner Bros. that enjoyed a strong debut in theaters last October, taking in $37.13 million in its first three days at the multi-plex.

On the digital movie purchases and rentals chart, Fox's "Gone Girl" shot up the charts to the number one position in its fourth week of release most likely driven by its Oscar(®) and Golden Globe(®) award nominations. Sony's "The Interview" is still showing strength sitting at the number three spot in its fourth week of digital release. One/Phase 4's film "Two Night Stand" entered the charts strong debuting in ninth place.

Our cable TV engagement chart is topped by ESPN's "CFP National Championship Game," followed by Hallmark's "Bridal Wave."

Meanwhile, Telemundo's "Senora Acero" moved back up to its familiar spot at the top of our broadcast TV engagement listings, followed in second place by Univision's "La Malquerida."

Finally, the top digital audience rating across broadcast and cable telecasts on our combined chart goes to a couple of old school brands with TV Land's "Family Feud" leading the charge followed by WGN's "America's Funniest Home Videos."
