CHORAL CHAMELEON presents the US PREMIERE in first live performance since its 2011 debut in Estonia, and following a recording released by Naxos/Warner Classics in 2013.

NEW YORK, Feb. 18, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- NYC's mold-breaking choral arts organization, CHORAL CHAMELEON, under the baton of Vince Peterson, Artistic Director, and in collaboration with Chameleonic, Empire City Men's Chorus, and the Choir and Orchestra of St. Paul's Carroll Gardens, presents the US PREMIERE and staged version of beloved UK contemporary composer ROXANNA PANUFNIK's stunning hybrid oratorio/mass "DANCE OF LIFE: TALLINN MASS" on March 8(th) and 12(th), 2015, at 8 pm at the DiMenna Center for Classical Music in Manhattan. A life-affirming ode to the city of Tallinn, Estonia--in English, Latin, and Estonian--will be performed by solo soprano Heather Michele Meyer, narrator, and double choir with speaking roles and movement ensemble, accompanied by orchestra in an immersive setting. Libretto offers stunning poetic texts in translation by leading Estonian poets Doris Kareva and Jürgen Rooste. Includes a rare opportunity to hear the Kannel, a musical instrument unique to the Baltics, being flown to NYC for these concerts by expert player Laura Lindpere. Staging builds upon the growing trend for presenting choral work with dramatic elements. Composer will attend the March 8(th) performance. Choral Chameleon is working with Stage Director Natalie Greene from San Francisco's Mugwumpin experimental theatre company to enhance the storytelling.

Elu, the Spirit of Life, encounters a plethora of everyday people who are searching for something more. But when she invites them into the Dance, she finds that they are each so consumed with their own solitary existence that they cannot connect with her.
