LOS ANGELES, Jan. 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Marijuana devotees and detractors in Fairbanks, Alaska, have a new place to go for unbiased cannabis news: KFAR 660 AM. The longest-running station in Fairbanks (and one of the oldest in Alaska) has just picked up TNMNews, the impartial talk radio program focused on marijuana, created by DigiPath, Inc. (OTCBB and OTCQB: DIGP).

Soft-launched in June 2014, TNMNews' marijuana news program helps educate and raise awareness of cannabis-related issues. It features engaging, and often provocative, interviews with marijuana-industry and thought leaders. The program is amassing a rapidly growing audience of loyal listeners, who streamed the program's content a record 190,000 times during the month of December 2014.

"Many of our loyal listeners want to hear accurate news reports and rational discussions on cannabis topics, instead of one-sided half-truths and propaganda proponents and opponents of marijuana throw around," said KFAR Program Director Steve Floyd. "Cannabis is especially relevant on the heels of the passage of recreational marijuana Ballot Measure 2."

TNMNews was aired exclusively over the Internet until December 2014, when it was first rolled out to terrestrial radio listeners on progressive talk radio station WXXM (92.1 FM The Mic), of Metro Madison, Wisconsin. KFAR, the second station to pick up TNMNews, is a commercial news talk radio station that has been broadcasting out of Fairbanks, Alaska, since 1939.

In-home, personal use of marijuana became legal under Alaska state law due to the Ravin v. State ruling of 1975. This law has prevailed despite attempts by former Governor Frank Murkowski, and voters, to recriminalize marijuana possession. Alaska was one of the first states to legalize medical marijuana, back in 1998, and voters recently passed Ballot Measure 2, which will create a state-run marketplace for adult use of recreational marijuana.

"Alaska has been at the forefront of marijuana decriminalization efforts in this country," said Todd Denkin, president of TNMNews. "Our program will surely resonate with KFAR Fairbanks listeners."

Denkin is a dynamic speaker who is often called upon by the media for his expert opinions on the cannabis industry, media, ethics, and politics. To inquire about an interview or obtain a quote from Denkin, please call (800) 549-0859.
